So, I've just put a load of stuff on Ebay, and it looks like I'm gonna have around £400 coming my way that I'm going to have to hide from the wife.
Obviously the best way to achieve this is to buy guitar stuff...
However, I'm in the odd position of not really needing anything.
So I need some suggestions. For that price I can get a half way decent Fender (Tele or Strat - missing single coils at the moment), I could invest in some Warmoth bits for a really NICE Strat build...
I guess I could save for somthing more exotic, but I think that it would still only be a Strat.
Not really GASSING for anything pedal related... unless there's something out there that you guys know I can't live without...
Ideas?
Mark.

some ideas:
-New speakers/cab
-a headphone practise amp thingy (if you don't have it yet)
-a good microphone and preamp for recording
-a power soak
-and always a good acquisition: new BKPs!!
-
Warmoth. Are you gonna buy at this time of downturn? I was going to, but obviously it looks a bit stupid to.
For the cheap Warmoths it seems OK, but obviously not for the more expensive stuff.

Sorry to be boring, but if there's nothing you want then don't spend the money just for the sake of it.
If hiding it from the wife is your only motivation, why don't you have a personal (i.e. non-joint) bank/savings account?
If it's coming from ebay sales are you receiving it into your Paypal account? Why not just leave it there?

Yep, boring. However, leaving it with PayPal may make sense..
.. damn you.

Or you could spend it on your wife. SHOCK HORROR!

Spend it on something nice for the wife or save it for something you'd really want at a later time.

How much is a silicone breast inplant in UK?

Steady on!
Hmmm... not sure I can hold off. You know what they say about a fool and his money...

List your gear and we can advise!
One of my recently acquired golden rules is buy quality and buy it once, everything I've ever bought thinking it was a bargain usually isn't. So the Warmoth sounds a very good idea.
I think you could get 1 breast implant but you would have to fit it yourself :(

I'd say you should buy a Squier Classic Vibe Strat. You'll also have change to put towards a set of BKPs for it.....
-
Do not spend it on the wife. It would be like giving her the Rhineland. What comes next Poland? That could be the amp in your avatar gone!
Leave it in Paypal and add a bit to it each month until something appears that you know you will want to keep long term.
(can you tell there is a war going on in my house about guitar related stuff and space?) :(

I'd agree with Jonny about the Warmoth stuff, it's not cost-effective at the moment due to the exchange rate.
I bought a Tele body just before Christmas, and after shipping and VAT it ended up costing a stupid amount of money (although it is very nice). I could've bought a Mexican Tele for less.

Ignore my last post. I've changed my mind
Bid on this Yamaha Pacifica 812. Ends soon, could get it cheap.

Personally, I'd just bugger off to Amsterdam or take her away for a dirty weekend (or a dirty weekend in Amsterdam and kill two...or three... birds with one stone). If I had £400 burning a hole in my pocket and wasn't in need of any guitar stuff, I'd blow it on a break.

Although that Pacifica is nice :D
