Warmoth comes in very expensive though...  especially if you go for the nicer stuff.

gotta say the fender two tone sunburst looks particularly nice over koa

i have some nice fiddleback tazmanian blackwood that would work particularly well in that style

It is indeed. Made in Korea in the same factory as the Lite Ash Teles and Strats.

If you did make Strat bodies on request, how long would it take? For a clear finished one, no fancy paintjob or anything.

i am not currently giving myself deadlines, i know it sounds arrogant but i still have another full time job, am setting up a new workshop and planning a wedding at the moment.  also, finishing can sometimes create delays - especially when its done in nitro

probably about a month before finishing

hard to photo though, the flame is pretty consistent across teh board but does have a tendency to disapear under a flash.   I think this kind of tight even flame would really suit a telecaster with a black burst (doesnt need the amber in the middle really) and a simple 3-ply tele scratchplate... simple and teletastic but much more at the same time

Noooo  No pickguard, pleeeeease!
At most a very small burst, but I still think it needs to be 100% natural! :D

Solve making it... Perhaps with that Macassar Ebony neck (I would think in Rosewood neck with that wood on fretboard, Esquire...)
A wood seller here from Brazil told me once "Want to have the figure popping on your face? Before you apply the first laquer coat, let it have some light, 1 or 2 hours, than apply the coat..."

Got a report of a painter doing it, with P.U., and get really impressed, will try it someday...

To the fear of it getting warped side guys, he told me to it that Bear Claw Spruce to acoustic guitar
He said it works alike when you put oil on a paper, it get transparent...
