Title: NGD... and a pickup switch problem
Post by: Adam.M on January 14, 2009, 03:03:52 AM
Well today i got a lovely lovely hard tail strat copy for not very much money, it's a CSL strat, which were made by Ibanez waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back for this english importer, they're basically ibanez blazes.

Anyway, had a problem of... not working when plugged in! turns out the output wire from the pot was not connected to the jack, it'd fallen off. This i realised after taking the guitar to peices.

Now comes problem number two which i can't get my head around, the only setting that works on the pickup selector, is the neck position, and for some damned reason, that is actually the bridge!

Now i know the pickup selector works, as i've tried this guitar before, and i've checked the wiring and as far as i can tell it's exactly like this

Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong? it is 3am now so i'm just giving up for the time being, for you know, sleep.

This is a really really nice strat for the money, maple neck, quite heavy body actually and generally very nice, plays itself sort of thing.  Just recorded a small snippet and put her up on MySpace.

I hate how MySpace ruins everything i put up there, but nevermind!
