I'm looking for some pickups for my alder HSH superstrat with rosewood fretboard. In the middle I was thinking of an irish tour or a sultan, so far I think I'm liking the sounds I've heard of the sultans more so I was thinking of basing the power of the others on it. I'm looking to get a nasty funky bridge pickup for some sly stone and james brown type funk. For the neck I want to be able to get some good jazz and bluesy type tones. Not really the types of tones you'd expect from that type of guitar but i had a spare original floyd and wanted a nice cheap guitar.

I have an HSS set with a Stormy Monday and Sultans, but that is more for blues and rock. For what you are looking for I would put a SM in the neck, which will do the blues and jazz. For the bridge I would think about an MQ (for that fat single coil sound), or perhaps an AV Mule wired with a Series/Parallel switch so you could get the mid-scooped funk in parallel mode, but have a little more poke in series for bliues/rock tones.
