Intresting but at that price I think I would have to get a rocker30 instead.

Odd addition to the range...

Rocker30s are awesome!

It'll appeal to the boo-teeky enthusiasts I guess.
I am intrigued by the Dual Terror though, slightly unexciting name notwithstanding...
Do you reckon the DT's "Tiny Terror Channel" will perform exactly like the real TT?
-
Yep, I would think so but it'll be louder will it? Using all 4 output valves?

I guess it will rather show in dynamics and clean headroom than in actual perceived volume. At least this is the experience I had with 30, 50 and 100W amps.

I would LOVE to A/B this and the original TT.
-
i will stick with my £300 matamp little rock instead!!
-
It's almost as if they had a board meeting, wrote down everything they could do with the Tiny Terror range and made every single idea, just in case one took off.

Anybody has idea how much would cost for a Amp builder as Martim build one alike? I like the Double Terror idea, but don't like much the made in China idea... nor that price...
-
Martin's Roadstar 36 TT is the closest thing, with the optional Master Volume. This has the switchable extra gain stage. From £640, all hand wired in the UK from top spec components!

( I should be a sales guy  )

what about the bass terror then.. think its a valve pre with SS power section.. looks just like the TT head.

I'm interested in this, but it's gotta be at least 300 watts to be of any use, there are plenty of 'valve pre and ss power' type amps already in the bass world.

haha, that's fair enough, plugging good value, high quality UK-built stuff (actually it doesn't really matter where it's built if it's high enough quality and good enough value) is ok with me. you were right about cleartones...
my big problem with a custom amp is kinda like yours with custom guitars, i don't really know what i want until i try it...

It would be interesting to hear it side by side to a standard tiny terror to justify the extra cost.

Would be interesting to hear that actually. Hopefully Chappers will oblige!
I think i'll stick with my standard TT though, was playing my Les Paul through it earlier, had forgotten how good it sounded!
-
Already sent him a message on youtube earlier to ask exactly that.
Is the boutique version an offical model or just a UK builder trying to show the full potential of the amp?

I will tell you something so listen up here. Trannys make a huge tone difference. I dont know if I will be able to record anything but I am switching out my TT Transformers for a Mercury Magnetics set, and let me tell you the tt that I heard with the (Holy Terror Mercury Magnetics Transformers) sounded awesome better than standard. Improved everything. I am sure that mine will have the same result. Anyway I would get the Dual Terror if anyone out there is interested, and if you want to kick a little more quality into the mix upgrade the transformers. As far as the way they are built and where. My TTs electronics impressed my tech. Its not like these things are being built by underpaid monkeys. Probably could pay the guys a little more but Orange told me they have good Quality Control over there.
Anyway The Dual Looks stunning. I will do my best to get one if I come across one.

The output transformer (should!) be the most expensive component in an amplifier. Not only does it have a significant effect on the quality of the tone of an amp, but also the reliability.
The components used in a decent transformer cost more than those in a pickup, and transformers are far complicated to wind than pickups, so I find it quite odd that so many people seem to object to paying more money for amplifiers, whereas they are prepared to pay for expensive pickups.

Strange nobody has noticed its not called a hand wired TT, its a Hard wired edition

This is exactly what I heard from a trusted amp tech I was talking to a few months back when I asked about tweaking my amp. It wasn't our friend from jpf amps btw but the message was the same.

Just realised Orange have also released a new 2x12 cab.

Open backed, vintage 30 speakers and more compact than the normal 2x12.

That's great, releasing an open-backed cab and only providing front shots in the picture gallery

Think it's more intended as a combo extension cabinet than anything else
