I'm trying to set up my new tele to my liking. Using the resource on the Fender website - http://www.fender.co.uk/support/telecaster.php as a base guide.
In adjusting the truss rod, it asks me to measure the gap between the the string and the 8th fret, when 1st fret and last fret are depressed. Straightforward enough.
But ..... I'm supposed to do this on the 6th string. Is that the High E or the low E ?
yeah, doofus question I know.

personally i check both sides, but usually its the low string that will tell you most of what you need to know

THanks Wez, they suggest 0.010" for the 6th (low E) string. What sort of measurement would be appropriate for the High E ?

your looking for about the same amount of relief across the neck, the only reason i check both sides is to check consistency and neck stability
