Ok so i did a 1 take record of Mayhems 'Freezing Moon' and thought id share it. Its a pretty evil :twisted: black metal song, and i wanted to capture the spirit of it so i used a pretty raw sounding gainy patch, and used a distorted bass sound.
Songwise its theres 3 distinct bits, the intro bits @ 0\57secs, then the tremolo riffs @ 1:37 then the evil sabbathy outro riff @ 2:42

Recorded vai a GuitarPort with a custom 'Ballsy' sound with Audacity
Mixed down by N-track
Not the usual kind of track which is posted here, but i like it, its pretty tough to tremelo pick the damn thing, excuse any mistakes... my playings not the best :/
Note: If you can hear the stupid 'do do dooh' noise every now and again, i have NO IDEA where it comes from, it must be from N-Track :shock:

Nice raw sound there, very Black metal.. The Nailbomb does that tone well!

this is one fo the best clips i´ve heard here in the BK forum, not because it is blackmetal, but because it has enough gain and the distortion EQ is AWESOME

The do do dooh seems to be some sort of bass lick coming in. Probably a gremlin.

WFD, the guitar came with the nailbomb from the start, i went with it over the Miracle man 8)
You need to watch the treble with it, as its swamp ash\maple... but it gives a really good lead tone! Crank the bass n mids and roll off the highs, its fantastic!

Is that biased with a bass guitar?
If it is, I think the bass guitar just makes it sound like the bass guitar has more bass than it actually has, which biases the pickup, and makes it sound more basy than it actually is. I would change that tone personally, but sounds good I guess.

Hey aSh, what do you mean?? the bass is there, but it's pretty clear what tone the pickup is giving out, especially when you listen to the way the different sounds are panned, don't quite get your point?!! :)

er the bass is a midi bass line put through a tube screamer patch to make it distorted (like in the original song).
do you mean that the pickup is bassy?
You can CLEARLY hear the bass is panned left, its sort of got a twangy fuzz sound...
pan the mp3 to only play from the right in Winamp and you get 99% of the pickup by itself :)

Nice one Chris, I only saw the clip up there for the first time today. 2 out of 10 for observation then.
Totally impressed with that Nail Bomb, and the playing aint too shabby either.

I'm still unbelievably pleased with the guitar 8)
