I just picked up this PRS Singlecut 25 inch scale. My first set of BKNs were Painkillers that I had installed in a Les Paul Standard. They work perfect for me. I play mostly Metal
Are the Nailbombs a good choice for this PRS. I like many of the Nailbomb clips and want something different than the Painkillers for this guitar?

That's a gorgeous guitar! Those birds... is that some special edition?
I just bought a Singlecut as well (SC Satin trem, black cherry.) My first PRS, so I'm pretty excited. Should get it on Friday!

20th anniversary? Nailbombs should work well in that guitar, what style will you be using it for? Just read it again, they'll be great

that guitar is stunning !!!
If it were me, I would go with my 2 favorite BKP's, Holy Diver bridge and Cold Sweat neck :guitar4:
Nailbombs would be my 2nd choice

Yes 20th anniversary
So can someone give me what kind of tone difference between the Nailbombs and the Painkillers I have?
Essentially both guitars are the same woods etc.

They're a couple of the most different pickups BKP makes, imo. Painkillers (as you know), have very present upper-mids, quite aggressive treble, tiiiight bass, etc. The Nailbombs, imo, are less compressed, clearer, less bright, and have more "grind" (while being smoother).

Interesting, I'd say the Painkiller is clearer than the Nailbomb in my experiences (though not by much, all the BKPs are extremely clear). I agree with the rest of the comparison though.
I think the choice of Nailbombs is a good one, should make a different and complementary pairing with the PK-loaded guitar.

I definitely found the Nailbombs clearer (in the sense of less compressed, more "PAFish"), but yeah, all BKPs are pretty clear :)

Hmm, I when I talk about clarity I'm mean the note separation within chords and and general lack of muddiness. I'd definitely agree that the NBs are more PAF-y than the PKs.

Hehe, I totally agree with your assessment :) My fault for loosely using terminology, without thinking it may have different connotations
