What are some good tools to have for guitar building and repair??
-
If you're gluing anything. You need a shitee load of clamps.
If you're taking wood away if you need big ass machines, for the basic guitar body but also a handy router for the cavities etc.
Basic hammer, screwdriver, soldering iron.
And stuff to take measurements.
Can't really think of anything else.
But again, I think all your questions can be answered with Hisc--k's book.

mikey, this is the same question you have already asked... the book i suggested does have 1 list although i somehow managed my first with much less
i also suggested a couple of forums where this question will have been answered a few times
The reason i havnt done you a list is because its not that simple. For a start you have not mentioned what you intend on building or what materials you will be starting with or what budget you have to sepnd on tools.
so, here is my list:
accurate ruler
pencil
a bit of ingenuity
the rest is really up for debate.. and probably has been debated on the websites i provided in your other thread

i forgot clamps.... lots and lots of clamps!!!!

as you probably know, you can build a fender from parts with a set of screwdrivers, an allen key, an adjustable spanner, wire cutters and a soldering iron.
i'm using allen keys all the time for setting up my steinberger and fenders... i suggest sets of imperial and metric allen keys.
