It's just my nature, i'm really trying to find something embarrassing in that cupboard shot but for once i really can't... except that fast fret garbage silicone tone robbing garbage!
-
I don't use it. I got then realized I had no intentions of using it everytime I change strings  So it's just... there. I'd forgotten about it.

Holy high action Batman! Nice pics.

no its not...
you got to use it properly.. you let your strings get all manky and full of gunk, then you clean it and voila.. better tone ..
or you change em :P

Nice Charvel Model 4 :) Mine also doesn't have either of the single coils in there... wish it did though!

Mine came stock. But I took them out. It was my first ever guitar.
As for the high action, I guess... I always thought that was low, it's how I've played for the past two years (been playing for 4). I play A LOT better, faster, smoother, clearer with strings this high.
I mean, why make life harder for myself? I could get the strings way low and I'd have to bend adjacent strings, making it much harder. With the strings this high I can bend under strings. MUCH easier. It's not harder to play either. All my guitars are set up this way. The BIG drawback is that I can't get my pickups close to the strings. Or else when I fret high up they get way too close to each other. So it's all a compromise, but guitar setups always are.

:drink:
Wasn't dissing(That's right folks, dissing ) your high action, just making note, personally I'm a fan of low action but it's all opinion after all.

You don't want the white LP. I'll take it. :)
-
I couldn't really tell how high your action was, but I did notice how high your Strat saddles are set. Interesting what you said about bending strings, personally I don't like my fingers going under the adjacent strings (shreds those cuticles, ouch!). But horses for courses.
Nice gear. :)

I can get them under so low that they don't even shred  Heheh it's all about making my life easier. With lower strings I just have no room... I can't bend that well, I sound out of a tune, it masks my mistakes and it sounds less open, more compressed (well to a certain extent...I could get a little lower obviously and not feel any adverse effects).
I didn't think you were dissing no worries. I actually used to play with the strings WAY low. Then as I learnt to play better (or less bad) I actually progressively raised the strings without realizing until they reached their current height. It just kinda happened

I cant play well with low action either, it feels really weird and as you say, bends dont feel right.
