OK, I know these "N_D" threads have been causing a bit of a stir recently, but I'm not here to gloat about picking up a Tom Anderson for 75 quid or something...
These used to be the zebra Cold Sweats on Twinfan's recently-departed #2 McCarty Korina. Now chrome covered and ready for my Mira. :)
The VHII turned up last week. It's white, 53mm and destined for a Strat.

Congrats! :D

nice :)
i thought you meant a pedal

I suppose I could've said NBKPD!
-
Sorry if I haven't been paying attention but did you send those pickups back to BKP to get those covers fitted?
-
If you find you don't like them, I'm in the market for a chrome CS set ;)

I sent them to BKP, where they had chrome covers fitted, before continuing on their journey to Phil ;)
Get 'em fitted and let us know what they're like in your Mira :D

No, I know I'll like 'em! I've tried a CS set already (borrowed from Hunter - what a nice helpful bunch of people we have on this forum!) :D

Show off! Braggart!

I feel suitably chastened...

Hang on... you're not hiding something from us are you Philly?
ie. I've been wondering who the new owner of this "recently-departed #2 McCarty Korina" is...
(sorry if I've missed something in another thread and you're entirely innocent...)

 Totally innocent. And not hiding anything (not in this case, anyway.... )
Dave sold the guitar to I-know-not-who, but put the original pickups back in. And I got the nearly-new Cold Sweats for a very nice price. :D

He IS entirely innocent! He just bought the pickups :)
By the way, my #2 McKorina is on eBay. The guy who bought it loved it there and then, and put it on eBay 7 days later

The poor thing, she cannot find a good home for long, what an awful experience for such a young guitar!
-
Hey, she had a good home in my care! Got new pickups and a few gigs!
-
I'm looking forward to your opinions on the VHII Phil, and hows the King's X DVD?

As usual, it'll be ages before I get round to wiring these things in!
Haven't watched the King's X DVD yet, but I will soon... it's from a 1990 show at the Astoria and I was there, so I had to buy it! :)

Wow that's great, you were actually there! Maybe you will be on the screen for a second or two ... sneaking up to stage to peek at the rack :O)
-
Nice choice of pickups Phil, :)
If I had gone on to become a 'Rock'n'Roll man for all seasons' - I would have been tempted by the Cold Sweats more than any other matched set ; and I love the fresh top and 'deep & springy' bass sounds of the VHII soundclips I have heard.
As someone else mentioned on this thread, I actually like seeing the gear for the 'back story' and human interest / choice angle. I never think of them as being a weeing competiton ...
Congratulations !

No, I was up in the front row of the balcony. :)
I'm a little shortarse, so I hate standing in the crowd unless I can get right up the front... which I used to do, until the invention of the mosh pit.
(And thanks for the comments on the pickups, gents!)
