Was sorting some photos recovered from a backup harddrive that went bad on me (long story , lost lots of info ---GRRR!!)
I came across this - a Southpaw project I built about 10-11 years ago
It was a pretty intense project with a lot of specifics requested by the customer
I'm not sure if I have shown this on here before (apologies if I have)
It was based on a guitar that Jason Becker had used but we made the numbers out of alternating red and green abalone
It was pretty hard to look at without sunglasses on as well!!
It had a piezo bridge on it too (a Mike Christian one -popular at the time) which was controlled by the green knob

Interestingly - this guitar was built around the same time
Loaded now with Nailbombs and a Slowhand
Still for sale at £799

The bottom one is sunburst or trans-red?
Nice, but the top one is yuck PDT_047 Although I believe it shall be lovely to play if you're blind or on a dark room :D
-
Sunburst but the yellow bit is small

It was made for a lefty?
-
Yep - the dayglo yellow one was made for a player in Turkey who is left handed.
The sunburst was a spare that we made at the time as we had just made the jig to make the yellow one.
-
I like the top one, especially the weird pickup arrangement. DiMarzios, I presume?
-
Sorry man, I have great respect for your work but that yellow one is UGLY.
-
yellow one is pretty cool 8)
on the sunburst one, that neck pickup is pretty far forwards... any particular reason?
-
Actually, i always found the yellow one a very cool build (ive looked at every guitar thats up on the feline site)! But im not lefthanded:)
I thought the number fret markers were pretty sweet and i like the colour scheme, but then again, i can be a bit weird, i like strange guitars! The bottom looks great aswell, though doesnt appeal to me in particular:)
-
The original colour scheme was taken from the wooden Playskool blocks.
Nice job, Feline!

Agree with all the above.

Not usually very partial to super-stratty guitars but I like that one. It's got a perfect 80s look, if you're gonna do it it's good to go all out IMO.
The second one I'm not a big fan, it's just not wacky enough for me to see past the strat-ness.

To shamelessly pimp for business...
If you're having data recovery difficulties of any stripe, Jonathan, I'm in the trade and will do it for a damned sight less than the big boys. No fix, no fee.

The yellow one is by far the coolest thing I've seen in a while. ... actually, the last time I've seen something anywhere near that cool was when I saw the same guitar on the Feline guitars site :D
What are the pickups on it?
-
the yellow one makes me want to break out the spandex, tease my hair and play bad-metal riffs all night - not a pretty sight
the cherry one is quite slick actually, now I just need to find £800 and learn to play left-handed, ha ha.
-
For some reason im starting to feel gas for an imaginary SG shape version with the exact same theme and colors, now thatd be something *drools*

Nice to see some guitars for lefties. Love the yellow one. The other one looks nice and at a good price too. Shame I not got £800 spare.
