These are my latest pickups, I finally got everything fitted and set up. The Explorer has a Warpig and Mississippi Queen, both in raw nickel. The junior is a Pig-90, and the Nial McDonough custom has a Mississippi Queen, Slowhand and Mini-Mule. The two 3-way switches allow me to get any combination of the 3 pickups, the mini-switch is series/parallel for the mini-Mule and there is a coil tap on the MQ, accessed by a push-pull volume pot. The body is one piece of walnut, with a flamed walnut neck and ebony fingerboard.

Looks like you made it home in one piece after Friday night's jaunt!!
Nice guitars & pups, Phil. I wanna check out the Explorer, even tho it's cr@p. ;)
The leather couch makes a nice backdrop, too. :)

Beautiful!!!!!! :)

Those guitars look beautiful. How would you describe the sound of the warpig, is it as brutal as everyone says?

Looks great. I guess you've beaten me to it. I'm walking around with a similar idea for an explorer. A '79 series Dean Z in classic black with a nickel ceramic Warpig in the bridge and an AV MQ in the neck. (I'm hoping to capture Hetfield's tone on the Black Album). Have to save up some cash again.
How does the explorer sound? Any chance of clips?

I like the Warpig. It has a lot of bottom end grunt, but it lives up to it's namesake! It sounds really nice in parallel too, it cleans up really well. It is a great combination for the MQ, they blend well in the middle setting, and have a nice contrast in tones.
The Pig-90 is amazing too. Lots of old Black Sabbath tones. Think Sleeping Village and Wizard. It is a P-90 with a lot more bass but all the bite :P

Wow Phil, they look great. Spoiled for choice when playing- what a lovely problem to have to solve. The Junior is my favourite. Nice one( or should I say three)

I think Phil just plays 'em in alphabetical order, to keep the rotation going.

Thye look cool and sound exciting! Man you have so many guitars! How many have you got? Do you get in spin swapping them around. If i had all those i would never go out!
-
Phil do you ever have, like, guitar guilt as in i'm not playing that one enough, better have a go with that one or it will get jealous type feelings?

Excatly. I have one and don't play it enough!
Phil: Where do you keep all of them! Did you ever order the Abraxas with V?
-
I do sometimes feel like I should be playing some more than I do. I probably have way too many guitars, but I have been collecting them for more than 30 years now.
I changed my mind on the Abraxas V when Tim redesigned the Holy Diver, and now have a pair of them coming for the PRS.
I also need more room for the guitars! I have a room with cupboards on 2 sides, but i am out of space!

I would store some for ya! :D
