Hey guys. I am wanting to order a pickup for my Caparison Horus.... again. Well I have a Painkiller on the way. It should actually probably arrive at my dealer today, however I just ordered another guitar from him and he is going to slap the Painkiller in it before he ships the guitar out. So now I need to decide on another for the Horus. It is a Mahogany body bolt on with a 27 fret maple neck with rosewood board. I want something with a tight and defined low end, grindy mids and a smooth high end. Something brutal yet organic at the same time with sqealing harmonics. Really would like the old school swedish melodic death metal tone. Think Carcass, old In Flames, etc. My rig is a Carvin Legacy head with the Legacy preamp bypassed by a Rocktron mAXE preamp. In front of that I run a modded SD-1 into a ICP Decimator. My thoughts right now are C-Pig, A-Pig, Nailbomb and C-Bomb. Opinions, please?

As far as old school Carcass goes, Mike Amott uses SD JB pickups which means a Nailbomb will get you in the ballpark, but better! if the Caparisons have as good a bass response as they say, then that should mix nicely with the NB, not as brootal as the Pigs but should do what you want.
although you should definately ask Tim, as my Death Metal knowledge is limited (pretty much just to Carcass + Death, unless Opeth and Scar Symmetry count)

Well I asked Tim and he said either PK or MM. So since I have the PK for my other guitar I think I will try the MM in the Horus.
