Yey, I was the first viewer !!
Sounds mighty nice to me, Lew ! Not that I'm any sort of connoiseur of clean tones.
Although, defo a bit of hair in it at all times - my sort of cleans !
-
Yea, I like at least a little bit of gain when you dig in 8)
-
Sounds good to my ears.
We need a better sounding clip of that amp!!
-
Nice... I really like the clip, definately my type of cleans!
-
Great stuff, as I expected! :)
-
sounds great :)
-
Very nice indeed.
-
Sounds lovely, I know it's supposed to be British sounding but that's a really good take on a blackface vibe for me, not that far from a Deluxe Reverb tone, perhaps it' the 6V6's?
-
Sounds great Lew! Did I hear a bit of SRV in there somewhere? 8)

It definitely is. At anything above idle, the 6V6 output stage can make itself heard if you keep the gain down.
Nice playing Lew! :)
I first thought this thread was about getting grubby marks off that white Levant!
-
Thanks for the kind comments 8)
Johnny, SRV has been an embarassingly big influence on me(like most!), so probably ;P
The clean/break up tones is where the amp excels imo. Like you say, almost blackface until gain is added then it goes all Marshall, tis a weird little amp
Martin, the white has a few marks but nothing I care about, the more beaten looking the better :D
-
That sounds great, just the right amount of break-up when the elbow grease is applied. Lovely playing too.
-
Nothing to be embarrassed about Lew. It sounds really cool. I've always wanted to be able to play Testify. It was fully tabbed in Guitarist a few years back, but you know how demoralising it can be sometimes taking on a behemoth like that!
That amp is something else!
-
Andrew I played with just fingers in the vid too - with a pick you can obviously dig in for more break-up 8)
I never really learned much by SRV, but I used to play his music constantly-especially live at El Mocambo! :o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YIHvK5WN7I
-
Sounds superb - has a great chime to it and very smooth too. :harp:

Nice amp
