Title: Mothers Milk vs Apache vs Irish Tours in same guitar
Post by: HJM on October 11, 2005, 08:50:48 AM: I've done all three sets, by swapping scratchplates in and out of the same rosewood board, alder body strat. Clips were recorded through a Line 6 Guitar Port onto a cr@ppy old PC, so there's the odd click. Clips start on the neck, and work through all 5 positions, one riff each. Clean, crucnch and lead.

PS. note that the mothersmilk bridge is actually a Sinner, so that's the odd one out!

Oh, sloppy playing alert...too much coffee....

i loved the Clips(i will comment on them , neck only ok?)
the Apache Neck is Hot and not balsy or thin i like it.
The Mothers milk is as sweet as the name itself. ahahahahaha I liked it, but too vintage for me.
And i Loved the Irish Tour , very very good sound, vivid, warn and rounded.
BUT i guess it wil lno thave enough output to pair the miracle man bridge.
the apache is kinda similar to the irish tour, but both have their own tonal carachteristics.
i liked them
but i guess ill stick with a Trilogy
do you have it in the neck to do one more take for me?!

The Irish Tour is pretty hot, it would work with a Nailbomb, maybe even a Miracle man...Tim??? :?:

I think I like the Apaches best for the clean sound and the Milks for dirt. That Sinner in the bridge is my fave for the "filth" you had going.

Great clips and comparison...both PUs sound great. The Apache sounds more glassy then the Mothers Milk, which I really like. Hard to choose a fave between the PUs...My ear is leaning towards the Apache. It sounds like a wonderly warm vintage single coil (which I guess it's supposed to sound liek!!! ;) )...Cool playing btw...

I will burn them to cd and get the cans on I think. I think I like the Apaches best but it was a close run thing between them and the milks - and that is not to say I did not like to tours.
