i love boogie nights :DD::D:D (i also like dance music made by computers though
*Cough*Yes, you can tell you like a really embarassing band  :P
I have been enjoying Katy Perry recently, I still hate the kissed a girl song though
EDIT: Tom, whilst I've only heard the lead single, it would suggest the new Lily Allen album could be a cracker. That song wipes thefloor with the majority of things tat get mentioned in the now listening thread, in my book.

Yeah I like The Fear. I havent heard anything else off that album. Take What You Take off Alright, Still is a great song :) So catchy.
I'm resisting the urge to find an acapella and 8-bit one of them up
edit - $%&# it, the acapella for Smile has been downloaded. It's only a matter of time.. :\

Yes, really.
I still like bands like Black Box, Snap, Haddaway, Londonbeat and all that music from the early 90's plus I have around 200 12" singles from the early 80's with bands like Change, The Weather Girls, D Train, Luther Vandross,Change...
jhonny i wouldnt be embarassed of that list at all :D some class stuff on there :)
I feel no guilt over any of this stuff, but...
I agree with Twinfan and others, Abba - superb stuff (I even like the Mama Mia dvd that the missus forced me to watch ).
I am and always have been a big devotee of The Bee Gees (along with Frank Sinatra, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, and so on, their 60s and early 70s stuff was my BIGGEST early musical influence).
Possibly going against popular opinion here, but still no guilt, I also rate Cliff Richard big-time (I agree he's a bit sickly to listen to talking though...).
And I love all things McCartney... (including the Frog Chorus...)
Finally, still no guilt here, I have a certain appreciation for, not sure what you'd call it, it is kinda 60/70s country based ballads. For example:
"Honey" - the Bobby Goldsborough version, still sends the good ole shivers down the spine when I even think of the last verse...
"No Charge" - I can't remember who had the hit, but it was well cheesy, and I loved/hated it all at the same time
Various Kenny Rogers songs "The Gambler" (love that one), "Lucille" (ditto), "Coward of the County" (I think the songwriter was possibly trying too hard on this one ).
Dean Friedman - must get a CD of some of his stuff
Etc, etc...
(RAWK! hell yeah!)
I got laughed at recently because I said I'd downloaded a Glen Campbell album..like I give a sh*t.
I'm really liking Amy MacDonalds album 'This is the Life', that's really cool. Quite a fan of Blur, but i'm not really embarrassed about that :)

The Wichita Line Man is one of the nicest sounding songs ever! 8)

Blur are a great band and nothing to be embarrassed about! The words to Charmless Man are spot on!
Out of time is another great tune, haunting sound.

There is some great bass playing on the Change album and also Naked Eyes from the same era. I'm not embarrassed by any of it. I have a ton of Tamla and Reggae. I pretty much like all music other than some gangsta rap and really old county and western. I love the stuff on your list Johnny, and I have most of them too! I'm a big fan of English, Scottish and Irish folk too (also 'Celtic' music as it's now called)I still like bands like Black Box, Snap, Haddaway, Londonbeat and all that music from the early 90's plus I have around 200 12" singles from the early 80's with bands like Change, The Weather Girls, D Train, Luther Vandross,Change...
I remember a lot of those Phil. Its what made me get into thrash!
I admit to having the Change album on vinyl, there were quite nice.
i agree that you shouldn't be embarassed. what really gets my goat is non-musicians telling me i should be embarassed about liking a certain type of music.+1

Yeah, I've only heard it a few times but there's something really powerful about the sound. But powerful's not the right word... it just gets to you somehow.

Absolutely NOTHING wrong with Manowar!!!!
There is nothing awesome about power metal. Not ever. Especially not people who sing "May your sword be wet like a young girl in her prime" without even a wink or a smile.
...why would they be joking when they are so awesome?

Manowar aren't Powermetal, but that's an argument for another thread.

They are by modern parlance.
Johnny Mac is right though, this isn't the place for talk of them. Neither is anywhere else, though. Except maybe the changing rooms of a live-action roleplay convention.

Just because they keep a straight face that doesn't mean they aren't laughing inside :D :D
Not sure who else was in Sky Johnny, but wasn't it Mr John Williams the classical chap? (And Herbie Flowers on bass)

You could be right there Andy. He used to sit down and play an electric on Top Of The Pops!
Remember that one hit wonder from the 80's PHD? "I woooont let yooooo down, let yoooo down agaaain" Didn't like that so not a guilty pleasure, just thought I'd bring it up.

I liked that one (seriously) !!
