I own a 2001 Epiphone Zephyr Regent hollowbody with one humbucker pickup on the neck side. IŽd like to upgrade it and already tested an ES 165 but it doesnŽt fit my tonal preferences.
Since IŽm very impressed by the T-Bone Walker tone and Tim already made me a great set of MuleŽs for my LP Studio I wonder if a Mississippi Queen could be a solution for replacing the pu of the Epi - and if so in which configuration (Iread in different posts something about AlNiCo III, IV and V and about some coil tap).
Will it be possible to get this vintage p90 tone like the old ES 125 out of this lowpriced Epi or will I have to go the vintage way?
Sometimes I seem to be blind but I canŽt find any MQ-information on the BKP site (specs, price).
Is anyone here whoŽd like to give me some information and suggestions?

I think a MQ probably Alnico III would fit the bill perfectly. My A4 MQ in my Esprit (which is chambered) has a nice clean tone and sounds great through the Pod Roland Jazz model. But for T Bone jazzy blues I would say that A3 probably has more of the old style jazzer sound you seem to be looking for.

There isn't any info on the MQ's yet as we're redoing the whole site and it'll be posted in the revamp.
Funnily enough, alongside the Mississippi Queen, I've also developed a new humbucker size P90 specifically for jazzers and semis/hollow bodies, it's Alnico III and has a unique cover with a hint of art deco to it, they're going to be called the Manhattan.
If you'd like one, PM me.

Art deco? When are they gonna be in the gallery? How about a little preview?
