I'd really like to get some feedback on a couple songs I've been working on lately. Both are recorded with the Ceramic Warpig. All criticism is welcome!

UPDATE 03/02/2009: The first song now has a drum track with it. Unfortunatly, I did not use a metronome when I recorded the guitars so teh drums are kinda screwy in places. Plus, I can't really play MIDI drums too well on a keyboard.

The singing is kinda hard to hear, but I do like Overlord.

Please put the pickup you used in the title of your thread!!

^ My bad.

The first track has god-awful tone, but I can see where you're going with it. With some work and re-recording with a metronome it could be pretty cool.
The second has some really cool riffage and the tone isn't bad, but you need to cut back the bass more, it's dominating the sound to excess. The solo section is very nice. Your vocals remind me of early Exodus/Anthrax/Overkill a little bit. Cool.

^ Thanks. Yeah Ive got a bit of a bass fetish and it doesnt help that the Warpigs are naturally extremely bassy. The "God Awful tone" might be from the amp I used to record. My tube Matamp is in the shop right now so I had to use my Marshall MG in its place. I can guarantee you the Matamp sounds fantastic in person but I just dont have a good way of recording it right now.

I think the riffage is cool and it could work well in a band but I have to say the vocals are really offputting. Sounds kinda like dave mustaine but much worse :( Sorry if thats too harsh, just my opinion.
-
il like tone and riffs (by now i just listened to overlord) but i agree with tom... vocals seem to belong to something completely different... too bad that your bass fetish does not extend to vocals!
-
Well I aint no Robert Plant or Ozzy Osbourne, but I havent heard anyone else who can sing these songs any better than I can. Thanks for the tone complements.

Marshall MG
Haha, there's the problem! :P

i wasn't judging your vocal style, i just said that (in my opinion, it's obvious), i'd have used a much more deep vocal tone... but it's just me, y'know, i'm very fond of goth...

^ No offense taken, everyone is different. Unfortunatly, I can't change how my voice sounds, so I make the best of it.
BTW, I got the Matamp back yesterday with its brand new transformer and it is sounding awesome. As soon as I get some more suitable recording equipment I will post some better clips.
