I've made a quick recording with my Artist (the one in my avatar) with the switch in the middle position. It has a Mule set with Alnico IV. I plugged it directly into the soundcard through a DI-box and added a few plugins to the track.
This is my favourite type of cleans with the guitar. Although it's a sledgehammer when it comes to overdrive, it has a surprisingly nice quack tone in the middle position of the switch.

Excellent Clean Peterku!
i must say this kinda notes and tracks are kinda the ones i Like
so... if i ever record a cd of my own band(not the ones i´m in right now)
i´ll ask you to do a clean track as an intro, or outro or even to be placed in the middle of the cd.
i really enjoy this kinds of tracks, it reminds me doom metal. OLd ones, not this new cr@py called gothic metal. ahahahaha

sounds really nice! I also love the quacky tone of my Mules in the middle position. Sounds really strat like, great for SRV and Rory Gallagher style tones actually.

Thanks, guys!
WFD, the track reminds you of DOOM METAL??? Not really the effect I expected but still cool. 8)

Great tones and cool playing,Good stuff!
-
Great tone...really sweet!
I can see where WFD is coming from...all it needs is a crushing distorted guitar to enter at the end....
-
I really liked that Peterku- great tone and lovely chords.

Hhaahahahahahahah
Q:P
Peterku.. yeah, the old doom metal bands ALWAYS put an accoustick track(like an intro, or just instrumental one) inside their cds, it´s a MUST.
check out this bands - theatre of tragedy(self titled , a velvet darkness they fear), Anathema-Serenades/Crestfallen(ep)(this one is from England, cavannagh brothers),Celestian Season-solar lovers, forever scarlet passion, and the classical ones : Katatonia-for funerals to come(ep),Dance of december souls, Brave Murder Day.
these are fine examples of those acoustic "peterku" like tracks in the doom metal style. ahahahah

awesome tone Peter.... I was expecting closer by Nine Inch Nails!
-
Lovely stuff! Sounds superb!
-
One of the best clean sounds from a full size humbucker.
-
THAT WAS AMAZING! I CAN'T IMAGINE A BETTER CLEAN TONE (except maybe one with a touch of chorus... like so it's there, but you wouldn't really notice it). IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. thanks
-

Hi, This is my first post. I'm rather puzzled, I can't see how humbuckers can sound like SRV or Gallagher.... what do you mean exactly?
-
I think tom's getting at the tone of two humbuckers in parallel, it's a touch thinner than either humbucker on its own, closer to a strat I suppose!
And welcome! 8)

HI HJM,
I see... I have my LP wired out of phase when both pickups are on. I do get a slightly weaker signal with a bass roll-off but I love that sound and makes my guitar so much more versatile IMHO.

The sound has hollow mids, clear bass, and a sparkling top end. The quack is very stratty. It's cool for funky playing, blues, and even for chords and strumming, since the sound is similarly 'acoustic-like' as on a Strat with the neck and middle singles in parallel.

Lovely Peterku, a real treat! :D

Thanks! :)
