Title: getting close to a NAD... tease!
Post by: Dmoney on March 14, 2009, 12:51:47 AM: New Amp Day... this amp is being burnt in and hopefully shipped to me next week!
its a replacement for the Avenger i had that failed, and that Sounds Great in Manchester screwed me around with.
so its really special, Soldano went way above and beyond what they had to do. absolutely amazing service. unlike sounds great, in my opinion...

EL34 power section! no longer offered as an option. wonder if mine will be the last EL34 avenger?

Yes it will! haha. the main issue when that happens is just my pedals and who is going to stamp on them and kick them all over the place. If it ever looked like i'd be tipping over my head I'd be fighting back. I'm talking indiscriminate violence in every direction till people get away from it!

i WISH! hahaha. thats not a bad idea. however i dont have it. and i dont even know where it is. the story i got from sounds great was that it went to a repair place in manchester. a different place to the shop that messed it up originally. Sounds Great out source their repair work it seems.

I might find out where it is and offer them £20 for it. mwahaha!

its meant to be the lead channel from an SLO.
its more of a Soldano Hot Rod with a depth mod.
in fact, the PCB actually has Hot Rod on on it i think.

single channel, no FX loop, just in and out. simple signal path. thats just what i was looking for in an amp.
maybe in future ill try a Decatone or something. but my dual rec is pretty versatile as far as sounds goes. although id be worried about changing channels live and that baby has a bit of a pop between channels. glad in not to that stage.

im thinking of doing some cleaner stuff soon but to work it live id probably roll off the volume. that works really well with my Rebel Yells. not sure how it will work with the miracle man set in my LTD.

side note! ive ordered new miracle mans for my LTD. its gonna look SWEET! expect a photo once they get installed. Tim is the man!
