I am picking up a few fx pedals in the next couple of weeks but I need some opinions. I have decided which wah and chorus to get but I am unsure which delay to get? at the moment it's between the Satch 'Time Machine' and the Boss DD7.
Any input would be great.

Tc electronics nova delay, eventide tine factor, boss dd-20, boss re-20, line 6 dl-4
i have the nova. I want a g-major tho instead

If you prefer an analogue delay sound I can heartily recommend the MXR Carbon Copy. I've had one since they first came out and I've been very chuffed with it. One extra feature it has is a button to add a little "wobble" to the repeats for a tape echo style effect. I like that too. Would be worth demoing one if you're tempted by a non-digital option.

also, while you're out shopping, try an EHX Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai. Theres alot you can do with that pedal.

DD-20 does everything that you need. Is also very sturdy, and only the Timeline (much more expensive) beats it for live use.
The Nova delay is seriously let down by it's preset switching "tap dancing", IMHO.

+1 to the Memory Man with Hazarai

Wow to the memory man :o :D

If you want to try something a bit different, Carl Martin has a great analog delay. The BOSS RE-20 Space Echo is a great analog echo unit, but it's not anything like a delay.

This pedal sounds awesome but I love all wampler stuff

Believe it or not but the Marshall Echohead is a tremendous pedal - 6 modes, plus tap tempo (via separate footswitch) and usually retails in the £40-60 region. I've been using one for about 2yrs now and am very happy with it. Much more versatile and cheaper than most of the others already mentioned.

I've heard some good things about this guys pedals in the past.

Have you considered the Empress Super Delay? I've had one since the summer and it's the best I've ever tried, although it's expensive!

In the end I went for the Hardwire DL8, I'll let you all know how it sounds.

The pedal has been delivered and I have been playing with it for a couple of days, it is really nice, solid as a rock and it has plenty of tricks up its sleeve. I will post a video of all my new pedals when the wah turns up.

I have one and i love it. Turn the dials to 12 o clock, and it's perfect!
I find more modern delays difficult to find 'that' tone, if you just wanna make your sound scream and cry it's perfect.

im currently using a guyatone md3 which i love. its a very transparent digital delay, very crisp. i believe its true bypass... a worthy contender. i had a malekko 300 dark and i dident like that at all, very muddy. i also have a homebrew electronics mimic mock 1 which is gd but for a more analogue sound. depends what kind of delay your after i suppose...
