So last weekend I done my first recording session, ever. And it was amazing. Spend an entire day in a shitety part of Glasgow, but inside a fantastic studio (The Tollhouse for anyone interested). Man it was fun. We recorded three songs on saturday, and Roddy the engineer dude spent about 16 hours in total mixing and mastering the songs. The man was a machine.
Gear wise i used my tele with a single holydiver in the bridge plugged straight into an orange tiny terror. The other guitarist used a tele and a musicman thingy into his JVM. I'm in the right ear, he is the left and all the solos were me panned centre with the TT cooking.
Might not be to everyone's taste, don't think there are many emo fans on the forum. I think we sound a little like early jimmy eat world. Got our first gig at the start of April, and i'm super excited to gig again.

Not bad, the only thing I dont really like is the singers voice. Not sure what it is about it though.
-
I like it. The guitar surprisingly; I usually don't like tele's. The voice is a little raw, but has some potential. I like Maybe the best. Sickness and the Timing is my second fav., got some good riffs in it.

Great fist-pumping rock tunes.
-
Waitaminute. 2nd song is pretty different from the first. Still good stuff, not as fist-pumping lol PDT_008

Thanks guys. Even though it's not the usual metal or classic rock fair found on this board, but it's good to see it's getting a little appreciation. I was really happy with the overall tones and production. Also my first attempt at recording, doing the solo in maybe was a daunting task. Science and Sickness are the two i wrote the music for. My guitar part for sickness consists of one whole note. Gotta love Ab.

I wasn't sure whether I'd like it enough to be able to post anything at all after I'd read your first post up the top there! No idea who Jimmy eat world is/are/were... and I obviously had a completely different idea of what emo might sound like
But I enjoyed the tracks :o - maybe you need to work on your "self promotion"
I really like the guitar sounds, good and punchy.
And that's the first time you've been in a studio? Nice one... Good luck with the gigs. :D

Hey that sounded pretty cool to me. You guys sound like a band-that may be an obvious statement but what I mean is that you are working as a unit. That doesn't always happen when you get into a studio so you should be very pleased with yourselves.

Great stuff Mark!
Love the name, it's epic. :)
-
Great recording. They guitars sound really good.
-
Sorry late post but yeah not bad at all..reminds me of a band..but may offend so wont list
-
Good work Ont he rockier track the Singer reminds me of Tim McIlrath from Rise against.
-
Really nice "raw" tones and mixing. Not over-processed at all.
I can imagine you're all going to have fun playing live !
-
really nice and clear guitar tones, here! vocals aren't bad (with an 80s pop vibe!), just too dry and in your face... i prefer a wetter mix with vocals blending more smoothly with the instruments. i remember my first demo, more than 13 years ago... it sounded really like shite, we recorded and mixed everything in 12 hours... good old times...

A lot more poppy than my musical tastes will allow me to like, BUT (and it's been said above), you guys work nicely together as a band, and that's very important, and definitely to be commended.

Not sure about the singer...
But I like the guitars on 1st and 2nd song... and they sound nice!

Thanks a lot guys to take the time to listen to it, even you Roo, Maybe must have been torture for yourself, TWO telecasters were used on the track. Ooooh does it burn? Meeeeeelting!
Anyway, i really appreciate it fellas, and the vocals are a little polarising. Some people like them, others dont. but that's cool, i'm happy regardless. Oh and we have a few new songs, which may include me on vocals. Eeek.
