Title: Ibanez RG7321 - BKP Suggestions
Post by: James C on March 26, 2009, 02:19:25 PM
I'm looking at buying an Ibanez RG7321 as i'm moving into more progressive territory musically and need a seven to attain the sound i'm after.

The Guitar is basswood with a fixed bridge, maple neck, r/w board and shitee p/ups.

The sound i'm after is Soilwork (natural born chaos/predators portrait), Nevermore, Jag Panzer and Dream Theater, and i'm hoping to get a glassy DT-esque clean through the mix positions (the RG has a 5 way switch). The Amp i'm currently running through is a Line6 HD-147 for live (compromise on tone, but very flexible, and free from a mate as he's now got an uberschall).

Any Suggestions? (apart from a new amp)

I could get a good warm lead tone from a Cold Sweat neck.
It's good for cleans as well.

From other topics on Soilwork tone, they've mentioned a Cold Sweat for the bridge as well, so a calibrated set could very well be what you want.

Stay tuned for more replies from others.

Cold Sweats are sounding very tempting at the moment, i already have a NB Equipped 6 String Vigier and a 6 String MM Equipped Guitar which i love the sounds of, so i'm thinking that a different flavour BKP could be the best way to go for even more variation.

If your 7321 sounds accoustically like mine (which is modestly likely, but far from certain) and you want those sounds, I suggest miracle men.
