Is that actually an ebony board?  I thought they were usually rosewood on the Japanese Customs.

Simple answer is that I do not know - it looks like ebony to me too but it could be the light in the photo. Most had rosewood but some of the high-end models were ebony. We'll see when I get it !

Just tell the Mrs. it followed you home.

Sometimes guitars are just like puppies or kittens standing up against the glass.

So hard to resist.

Philly - yes it is in Japanese but...

I recently discovered something called

www.rinkya.com

Now you will find out where all the dealers get their stuff!

Fees are not cheap (about 12%) but they will also sort out shipping back to the UK for you.

Now you now my secret!

With luck you can get a nice Jap guitar landed to your door for less than you would pay a dealer before shipping and taxes....

Folks

Looking for some pricing advice - going to stick the ObG Custom in the ads in Guitarist - I have swapped the pups, fitted a pickup switch ring and it has had a set up. Comes with original soft case. What is a reasonable price to be asking for it? I was thinking of around £650. Does this sound OK?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

I got £560 for my goldtop ObG, but that was about 18 months ago and prices seem to have gone up since then.  Plus they're a lot more expensive to import now.

So I reckon you've got a pretty good chance of getting £650 for it.  Maybe even a bit more if you're lucky.

Phil - I somehow guessed that it might be you that would reply! Maybe I will stick it in at £700 and see what happens...

Thanks

Mike

PS - will post photos of SG soon - that has been finished and I am really pleased with it
