Hello all,
So after so much GAS over amps and FX I am content in that department (for the moment) and looking for my next guitar have had my Gibson Les Paul studio for along time as it is my only guitar and love it to death but want something different looking for a super strat kind of idea, Would love a Suhr but that’s out of my price range which is around 1500$
Was thinking maybe a Used PRS McCarty or something along those lines something with a rosewood or ebony neck with humbuckers hmm..
Open to any suggestions!
P.S. I live in the States since i know there are price differences comparing to the UK prices.

... in the current economic climate $1500 could probably buy you the entire Gordon Smith factory...
:(

So, a guitar, with humbuckers, superstraty or PRSy for a bit over a grand....more specificity!

Sue has an Ibanez s2170fw:

Which is really nice to play. Very thin body, very comfortable to hold. (Warpigs and Trilogy in pics)
However, if it were me.. I'd save up for a Suhr.

what about a used suhr? you say you're willing to go used on a PRS, and you say you'd love a suhr, why not go used on a suhr?
-
Yeah. Or a used G&L; they're great guitars, but dont seem to hold their value 2nd hand.

The new Ibanez S5470 is right in your range and looks super sexy in red flame.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
I am in the states and a used suhr for a good price is hard to come buy as most sell only 200-300 off the original price which i might as well buy new for that. Im not looking for a metal looking guitar i like simple but with nice tops,

This is my ideal. but with a rosewood neck.
Looking for a super strat : 2 humbucker rosewood neck not metal looking as i stated above Wood im open to that but hate maple fretboards. Sound wise basically im looking for the sound of a les paul with the start feel of course you all know that as a super-strat. My main 2 are PRS and Suhr havent looked into anderson i hear there more expensive

You could try a Musicman. Great guitars. Plus you can swap pup configurations easily. (http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/marantz1300/100_0018.jpg) (http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/marantz1300/tsd6.jpg) (http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/marantz1300/100_0647.jpg)

I have a Charvel which has the nicest neck of any guitar I've played and the rest is very good too. They do a variety of finishes from plain wood through to "none-more-metal". I found the quality excellent and decent value for money too, though I did buy when the pound/dollar exchange rate was massively in my favour.

I've just come home and instantly fallen in love with my S1675 again. It's an awesome guitar. Perfect weight (quite heavy - feels quality, but not too hefty). It's really thin but has a great acoustic tone (and electric tone plugged into the Nailbomb). Just really easy to play, and it hasn't gone out of tune even a tiny bit since I last played it.
