Somehow I slept on my hands last night. My fingers are still numb and feel like sausages. I'm not talking your run of the mill supermarket sausages either. This is annoying as I normally play geetar for an hour or so on a Saturday morning, haven't been able to play anything that resembles music yet.
-
I think that's how mine normally feel !!
Seriously, I'm sure your feeling will return to normal soon.
-
Sorry to hear that! If it's any consolation I can't play no matter how my fingers feel.
-
I've just been widdling away with the Blackstar HT-5 cranked up through my JCM800 cab (V30+G12H).
Damn it's goooooooood.

Nothing to do with sausage fingers but I had a wisdom tooth out a week ago and it seems to be getting more painful every day. Just felt like moaning. :x

Never mind, Rachel Allen is on the box baking cakes! PDT_010
Tune in she's playing with custard!
Hope the tooth or where it was settles down soon. Solpradeine is good for tooth ache, its got codeine and caffeine in so you get a bit of a lift on it too.

Thanks for the tip Johnny. I've been on paracetamol and ibuprofen but I think I'm developing an immunity( :o !), I was going to try something different today, I'll give the Solpradeine a go.
The cakes look good (Rachel looks alright too) but I'm having trouble eating any solid food bigger than raisins. Not that I'm losing any weight.... I reckon if I had one of those gastric bands I'd figure out a way of living on sugar water and molten lard.
(Edit: I know this doesn't compare with the pain you must've been going through in recent weeks, so sorry for mentioning it really. But it is getting on my tits. )

Not at all Dental pain is horrible. I've never had an extraction but I've had 3 root canals. My dentist had drill into a tooth that had numbed with injections but it still hurt so she had to do it in 2 second bursts on the drill for around 30 minutes to expose the nerve and then inject it directly! That was fun, I went a bit delirious and nearly passed out but she saved the tooth. She actually rang me at home to see if I was ok bless her.
I've been swimming for a few days to get my back in shape as i'm back at work in two weeks, so i may even loose weight as I've piled it on being at home for this long, as you probably noticed the other week!
Whisky is good too and oil of cloves directly where it hurts. If it doesn't improve you should go back and see them.

camera man seemed to be attempting some down the top angles today!!

Good luck with the swimming, I need to get back to the gym and start running again. Went to the doctors the other week and apparently I have pretty high blood pressure, don't want to end up on medication for that!
I asked the pharmacist about my tooth and he gave me something called Paramol which has dihydrocodeine (whatever that means), so we'll see.
I'm going to give it a couple more days then call the dental hospital. They said there might be swelling/numbness for a few days but they never said it would hurt for 10 days, I reckon it might be infected. I got it done privately so they ought to sort it out!
-
^ i'm guessing that's just paracetamol with some codeine (same family as morphine  ) in it too? a bit stronger than paracetamol on its own. could be wrong, though.
sorry to hear about the fingers/teeth. :(
-
Sausage fingers now cured. I decided to put them in warm water for a while. Seems to have worekd a treat. Good luck with the tooth!
-
Dihydrocodine is quite good, I was on it for a long time. There's one particular mix of it with paracetamol called Kapake, which is just plain vomit city. Don't know how it does it does it, but I'm on the puke yourself thin diet as soon as I go near it.
You might want to get yourself some disolvable asprin and swill that round your mouth. Asprin can be absorbed through the skin which paracetamol can't so it'll get stright to the painful bit.
Ian - I once woke up and I'd been laying on my friont with my arms crossed over and had managed to cut the blood off to both lower arms. When I woke up I had to try and flap them side to side like some kind of demented seal to turn off the alarm clock.

:D I did the same thing a few years back but just on one arm. I lifted my arm up to check the time out but, due to lack of strength in my arm, shortly after lifting my arm it dropped quickly and I ended up smacking myself in the mouth. Very difficult explaining to work why I had a split/swollen lip.

Ha ha, I remeber doing much the same but hitting myself in the bollocks once.

Interesting you say that, I didn't take the Paramol today because I know paracetamol is a bit dodgy if you take too much, and now I'm feeling very queasy, wobbly and generally a bit strange :? . Could I be a codeine addict already, and now I'm doing cold turkey?
Anyway, I went back to the dentist today - he said it looks like I did have an infection but it's clearing up now. Which could be right, this has been my most pain-free day for a week. I got some antibiotics off him anyway, just in case, but I'll try not to use 'em.
-
yeah, you don't want to overdose on paracetamol, but as long as you don't, you should be ok. aspirin is worse on your stomach than paracetamol is...
-
I'd take them if I were you Philly, you don't want an abscess! PDT_007

I look like that already!
The dentist said when they took the tooth out they not only had to cut the gum, they also had to cut some bone out (sorry if you're having your dinner!), so he wasn't surprised it's still hurting.
It's been feeling OK today, but it's usually worst late night and early morning. I'll see how the next 24 hours go...
