Hey guys! Have been thinking about putting a Bigsby on a Flying V but keep it with a more cleaner look than this:

I wished something alike this, but still on the body of the guitar:

So I thought in cut a B3 and drill 4 or 5 holes to bold it on body, perhaps make it recessed...
Mind that the idea would be on a V built from scratch...
What do you think? Would this be stable? Would this pop from the body when put tension on strings??
Thanks for the comments

I don't think it will be ripped from the body or that it will be very unstable.
However, since the bridge are low on these guitars you might get a too shallow angle of the strings over the bridge. this will cause loss of sustain and the strings might pop out of the saddle.
Personally I like the loof of a B5 with it's butt hanging over the edge.
If you want something cleaner looking you moight want to put on a Les Trem.

Thanks Ratrod!
About the shallow angle, that's why I'm thinking in the recessed route for it...
This Les Trem work as a Bigsby or more like a strat bridge???

Personally I think it would look great, although I would lose the scratchplate.
I'd have to see the drawings as to whether it would be ripped from the body, but if it was me, I wouldn't put screw holes any more than the equivalent of 3/4 of their depth to the sides (depending on what size screws they are). Try it in some scr@p and hang some weights off it first.

I don't know about the alternatives, but the one in the first picture with the B5 looks awesome.

Looks cool sometimes to me too... but I'm thinking in a Fly for a friend (girl) who is short and perhaps would be shortened (as the 2nd pic above, guitar of Lindy Fralin) to the size balance better with her... then the B5 would be way off the body...
ToneMonkey, sorry but not sure if I understood your post :?
