Yes, it does evoke good memories of his 'Just One Night' album / tour ; but ironic that they should slavishly copy ( at no doubt considerable $$$ ) something that at the time Eric himself basically described / dismissed as a parts - caster on which one on the 'E' strings kept annoyingly slipping off the side of the neck during gigs.

Yes, credit is due for authenticity . For those of us who are 'a certain age' - it would be a memorable guitar to keep in a glass presentation case and dream of the ( seemingly ) carefree 70s ... :)

Just been watching Clapton 'Sessions' on Sky Arts. Some good stuff and Doyle Bramhall is very good indeed. The blackie strat looks much nicer than Claptons 'crash' strat. I really don't like the colour scheme:
