in my Classic Player 60s Strat.
They are fantastic. I really liked the custom '69s that came as stock but they were a bit too bright, weren't fantastic with overdrive - and were seriously noisy in all positions.
The Mother Milks have given more of what I liked - more quack, a little more output, beautiful Jimi/Frusciante clean tones, and much more happy to be driven hard - with NONE of the bad. They are so quiet compared to the stock pickups and the top-end is so much sweeter without being harsh.
Thank you Tim. Thank you Bare Knuckle. You made me a very happy boy.

I am glad to hear that because I ordered a set.
-
That is great to hear- another convert and a Strat player too.

Well this forum did look a bit 'humbucker heavy' so it was the least I could do :)
-
you will come to like the MM'smore and more, as time passes 8)-I get a killer Tom Morello tone from mine as well!
-
Now THAT is what I want to hear! I love the Morello neck pickup tone.
What sort of heights from the scratchplate do you have yours?
-
I would consider my height as low....dont know exact numbers...I hit the sweet spot on my Strat with more distance from the strings than I have experienced with other single coils-my goal was/is killer cleans 1st!!after that, the tone is huge/big,a la Hughie Thomasson (The Outlaws)-doesnt thin out on the lead channel

Good stuff. I'm still playing around trying to find my optimum setup.
Usually I start high and work my way down but may just try it the other way around this time.
