Engl screamer 50 head and Orange PPC 212 using quality planet waves cables.
Every so often I can hear radio coming through my cabinet even with an ISP decimator in the loop. Is it worth trying something random like having the isp decimator somewhere else. However the decimator is to help. I have no idea what the solution is so much appreciated if anyone has any suggestions that may help.
Thanks

Have you tried changing the cables?
What other pedals are you using?
-
As far as I know it isn't a problem.

Is the radio station any good?
Strip down your rig to just guitar>lead>amp>speakers using quality leads etc
Do you get a problem?
If so then maybe getting guitar screened may be an option
If not then:
Add things back in one at a time , testing each time
As soon as you get the radio back you know what the weak link is, and can consider your options

Also check out Cleartone cables from Award Session. They're much cheaper than Planet Waves, and are, in my opinion, FAR superior in quality!
It's definitely the amp, and not coming from the guitar? Poor shielding can sometimes be the cause of interference...

You could use it as an opportunity to jam along to some tracks.

French or Russian?

... yep, it's a curse.
Still get it through my Rat amp.
C'est l'vie.
Bonjour!

Thanks for the sensible and of course stupid comments. Next time I need to order cables I will try some Clear tone cables so thanks for the person who suggested that " Roo".
The update is that I haven't had radio coming through since I checked and one of the cables didn't have the shielded end going into the amp. That's not to say it will not ever come back to haunt me. English radio !! Talk sport or some shite !!
I stupidly thought both ends were shielded but obviously not !. Indeed it could be a dodgy patch cable into the decimator but these both have shielded end into amp and I've made sure of this. As for pedals, I do not use any as I like the Engl tone. Isp is awesome at stopping humming especially at louder volumes.
A quick other technical question which is probably in the wrong forum. What do people practice every day in order to improve vastly. Weak areas would be the most obvious thing and using a metronome.
Thanks again for all the replies

rather than a practice exercise, I just jam to a song with the techniques I want to improve upon - much more fun.
I can't sweep pick to save my life and thats the only thing I occasionally practice by (again) picking a song I like with that technique, but this time get it sounding clean/precise at a slower speed, then try up get it progressively faster.

MDV - Friend and bareknuckles user pointed out some further advise such as use cleartones and try decimator in front of amp and move myself somewhere else in the room rather than the amp itself :). I have just ordered one cleartone cable for testing. I may order more if I find them to be useful.
Also he pointed out that the explorer has a warthog swineshead in the neck ( not that any interest was expressed in my gear) :)
Anyway enough said on the whole radio malarky. All should be well- fingers crossed.

Good luck Craig.
If you want to narrow the possiblities (eliminate the amp/make certain its the guitar/cable/location (geographical)) youre welcome to bring the guitar and cable round and see if you get the same problem through my amps. If you do, its one of those, and we can swap the cable for one of mine and that will tell us whether its the guitar or cable.

Another possibility is the mains power. I've started using one of these power conditioners (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=46830&doy=23m4&C=SO&U=strat15) and it stopped a LOT of extra noise, especially at home and at gigs, which is where I found power troubles most obvious. Helped in my case, at least!
Hope you get on well with the cleartone :)

I used to get the Police CB frequency through my little Park 15 watt practice amp. Made for some interesting listening!
Got a bit paranoid, thought they'd bust me for sure. Kept waiting for that Sting...
(Yeah that was bad but was the only pun I could come up with....)

Yeah thanks Mark, I will certainly do that if problems persist.
I have not thoroughly tested my new cleartone cable and moved around the room enough yet. Also I will plug in directly and get rid of ISP from effects loop for testing purposes to eliminate anything I can. Radio hasn't been back on low levels. I will crank it up tonight.
Cheers all.
