Hi,
title says it all. Where do you people buy valves and tubes in the UK? Is there some recommended online store?
Thanks
Alex

i have used watford valves and hot rox

I tend to use Hotrox in the UK for new valves.

I have ordered from several vendors (Hotrox, Watford, Tubeampdoctor), but since about a year I stick with Doug's tubes from the US. The quality of his selected tubes is far superior, he has a huge variety of tubes and knows his stuff, he can pretty much give you a personalised recommendation for your amp and preferences. For me it's worth the additional days wait and customs.
I ordered tubes for 90$ recently, and it took 10 days until I had them, had to pay 10€ fee to customs.

I use hotrox. Just the first I went to a few years ago, and never had a reason to use another.

HotRox for me too. Cheaper than Watford Valves for the stuff I buy (new JJs).

Hotrox, Mark really knows his stuff.

Thanks a lot!

hotroxuk
Only place i'll buy valves, watford publish the prices exclusive of VAT which I find really irritating.

I've used Hotrox, The Tube Shop and Watford Valves. Hotrox and Tube Shop were better. Quicker service and better prices.

i use HotRox, they have what i want. watford valves always send my snide replies if i ask them questions about anything. plus the last time i wanted tube watford valves was closed. I did want to ask hotrox about speakers though and it took 5 days to get a reply. in which time i was over getting speakers from them and went elsewhere.
