Maybe someone already made a custom order if this is possible...!?
So Tim or others, could you make me a hot irish tour in a HB metal cover?
Cheers

Not really, the sound of a single coil comes from the tall narrow shape of the coil, and the fact that the wire is wound around the magnetic poles.
The closest you could get would be the Mississippi queen, a true P90 under a humbucker cover.
-
I meant that a singlecoil is fitted in humbucker "shell", like the EMG-SA wich you can buy in HB house if you got a H-H axe....
-
its not ideal, but you could always try something like this?

Notice the angle of the pickup - as Steve says a normal single won't fit!

thats what I was gonna say..

Thats the only way of doing it... To get a humbucker cover cut would be very expensive.

If I wanted a single coil jangle (which I dont as I love my MQ as it is and have the stradivarius of strats with BKPs) would going for a cool wound MQ - in Alnico III - give me that sound?
-
Weve made alnico III MQ's before, very clear and bright. Great for Jazz!
