Title: thick bridge humbuckers?

Hello,

Which Bare Knuckle bridge humbuckers would be good for thickening-up a guitar's tone?

I just picked up a Carvin DC125...lovely guitar but it's rather bright and doesn't have a lot of girth.  It's 25" scale, neck-thru, with a maple neck and alder wings, maple fingerboard, and Floyd Rose tremolo.  It's a single-humbucker guitar with a 1 vol pot and 1 coil splitter.  No tone control.

Would any of these be a good start?

Holy Diver
Miracle Man
Nailbomb
Warpig

Warpigs are the thickest

Possibly followed by holy divers, but Antag or someone similarly experienced with them will have to corroberate that; I only say it by reputation.

don't know what kind of music you're after but I heard that the Crawler is not bad for some fat chunky chords. Maybe you have to put it in your short list...

never doubt that of course,

I was only saying the Crawler 'might' - perhaps - have a little place on that list, naming the ones to be a good start for thickening-up the sound...

I wouldnt recommend it for a maple through.

Too middy, not enough bass. Its well suited, IMO, to ballanced to heavy sounding guitars. I wouldnt put it in a bright guitar.

Pretty interesting, didn't noticed that the CR lacks some bass when I tried it (I even found the sound to be quite massive).

Anyway sorry, the CR is out of the list !

I think you have got it about right, Holydiver, Miracle man, or Warpig should suit.
Personally, I think the HD will be thicker sounding, as the treble feels a bit more compressed; but I haven't had much time on a Warpig, and no playing with pickup heights.

I had this impression too, though I played the warpig in a thinner/brighter guitar
but it definitely has a stronger and more aggressive high end than the holy diver, so the diver sounds more rounded, which can be interpretated as a fatter/thicker tone, even though it doesn't have the same amount of output and low end
it's more comparable to the neck version of the warpig in terms of voicing, compression and output
