Post by: Kilby on October 17, 2005, 12:25:49 AM
I'm looking for an affordable electric 12 but came across this instead

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-6-7-12-String-Triple-Neck-Electric-Guitar-NEW_W0QQitemZ7358138708QQcategoryZ2384QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I know I don't need it but it's affordable ;)

I have enough trouble with one neck.

How would you decide which pickups to upgrade on that bloody thing !

No, it isn't! You'll need three sets of BKP's to upgrade it.

Wouldn't a triple neck guitar make more sense if one of the necks was a baritone? Doesn't the 7-string neck make the 6-string obsolete?

It could make sense if the pickups of the 6 and 7-string were completely different animals. OK it's cheap, it's an eye catcher but what will it cost to BKP that sucker?

No.

You can't do conventional thumb around chords on the low E with a 7 string.

Also, you could use one in a different tuning..

Probably weighs a ton too. One of those "good idea, shame about the execution" situations.

Still, there's something cool about buying a 'wrong' guitar. 8)
