Made this up the other week and just got round to recording it. Didnt EQ the guitar tracks this time, I think they sound fine as they are :) More of a punkrock-y feel than most of my other recordings I think.

Straight into the amp, no pedals in the way :)

really top pro sound. first riff is a bit simple musically maybe.
-
Cheers. It still sounds way better in the room, I just cant capture it well. As for the main riff thing being a bit simple, I like to keep things that way :P
I think I am preferring the Pig 90 to Mules at the minute. I like the higher gain and "give" they have in the sound. A bit less defined but guitar isnt about being hifi :P

Great sound, annoying riff! :D Drop D does this to people....
-
haha now I think about it I actually made it up about 3 years ago but I just picked it up again now and decided it was catchy enough to work on.
I like drop d :\

how is the speaker emulated out feature by the way?
-
shitee, I really dont like it. Really fizzy and cr@p. Maybe I'm doing something wrong though, its just plugged into the Hi-Z input of my interface.
btw heres one of the amp on 10, with the gain at about 9:00 http://hc.bloodyvelvet.com/files/254/blackstarcranked.mp3

i love all these blackstar clips, i think ill have to get me one of these to cover the in betweeny lo gain stuff, older metal, and cleans that my other amp (still undecided between fireball or 6505) wont do so well...ace clips tom :D

God this is astonishing, I dunno about everyone else but this sounds like a proper studio recording to me.
I've only once had a chance to play P-90's of any kind and I really, really liked them. I've always preferred single coils to humbuckers but they can be a bit thin sounding... maybe i really need some P-90's from Tim...
Are these proper sized p-90's or humbucker sized? i'm gonna get a (cheap but good) guitar and get some.
-
haha I wouldnt go that far Adam, but thanks. The bass isnt even a real one, its the neck MQ into Amplitube 2 on a bass amp with an octave pedal in front  Really need to get one though, but guitars always come first :P
I definitely prefer p90s to humbuckers at the minute, and they're way better than singlecoils imo. They have the best bits of hums and singles but all rolled into one. Fatness but with a bit of twang and "give" in the sound if that makes any sense. I find humbuckers (at least my mules) to have a much "harder" feel.. could just be because they're lower gain I suppose
They're humbucker sized, in this guitar:

:D

and is it just an sm57 directed where the blue tape is?
-
Yeah in the corner where the 2 pieces of tape meet seems to be the best position so far.

I imagine the Hi-Z is the issue here... Surely you need a line-in from a line level output :P

I feel like that too, but I don't think it's anything to do with gain surprisingly, I think It's more to do with the fact that it's a single coil type instead of a hum cancelling type... I've always found humbuckers a bit hard and stiff and strat single coils looser but thinner.
I tried out a Tokai SG today with Soapbar P90's and it sounded amazing, I don't think their suitable all the time but sometimes humbuckers make me rage a bit.
I think I'm now going to buy a Vintage Les Paul or SG and get at least the Bridge Pig 90, if i can afford a set then i will.

Noticed a bit of Weak Week in the second clip - and then i decided to figure out the song - and then i decided it was SO GOOD that I'd play it over and over again for about an hour. Probably one of the best punk songs ever written.
