Only ever played college gigs before at local venues. I played Dirty Water club in London, the Frathouse in Bristol and the Dead Members club in Worcester on Thursday going through to Saturday. Was damn good and loved it but now i am officially dead. We played 2nd out of 3 bands on the 1st 2 nights and headlined the Worcester gig.
Band is Jonny Chan & The New Dynasty Six. Long story how it came together but i think that's taken care of in the bio on the Myspace/Facebook so i won't explain it.
Off to Germany to play 3 gigs on Thursday/Friday/Saturday too.
Oh yeh on a side note, i saw Bloc Party & Foals at a sold out Kensington Olympia last night, loved that!

That's great!!
Whereabouts in DE will you play?
-
Nice one Joe. Makes me wish I was young again and doing all that stuff....well maybe not.

Playing the Waldmeister Club in Solingen on Thursday, then Druckluft in Oberhausen on Friday and finally Das Bett in Frankfurt on Saturday.
Should be very interesting considering none of us know anything about Germany or how to get to these places!

sounds awesome! im off to Essen the week after next, everyone is going to germany
glad your enjoying it!

Hopefully the Germans offer more than London do. I was pumped up about it because it's London (everyone wants to play there) and the rumours were that it was sold out, turned into about 50-60 people turning up, only interested in the headline act, who were terrible, but thought they were the dogs bollocks because they were from New York. We got paid about a third of what was originally quoted. Bristol was a good turn out and much better crowd who seemed interested in us as well as the headline act (it was the same headliner as the London gig.) Got paid nicely for that. Worcester was brilliant, not only did we put on the best show so far, we also headlined, got paid well, and we loved the support band too and got talking about doing a summer tour with them.

Sounds like a win on balance then.

he's living the dream!

Great stuff!!!
Ties in with the cr@ppy promoter thread, though - for your London gig at least. Glad to hear it wasn't more than 1 out of the 3 gigs!!
Good luck in Germany, should be a blast!

Sorry, oh and we sort of changed the name of the band to Jonny Chan & The Nu Die Nasty Sixx, just for a laugh. The frontman is the only original member (Jonny Chan). My mate went to visit his dad in America, who used to manage Jonny Chan's band. Got asked to fill in on Bass for them at a New York show (where Jonny Chan lives) and then after that Jonny asked my mate about getting a band together and doing a Europe tour thing, and here we are. I hope that wasn't too confusing haha.
It's like garage punk stuff. He already has 2 albums made so we just play that material and a couple of covers. Think he wants to record something in the future with us though which would be cool.
