Title: Wanna tell you a story (about a woman I know) ...
Post by: 99_not_out on April 15, 2009, 09:40:39 AM
When you are watching a half naked 50' inflatable fat woman with massive jugs astride the boiler a ruined steam locomotive while one of the tightest rythymn sections in the business beats out gloriously defeaning RAWK you can only be watching one band on earth ...

They delivered as usual last night at the O2 ... We Salute You  !!!!

The Mighty AC/DC :)

Was a good set they played - a lot of stuff from the new Album, 5 tracks in all. The rest of the set was almost all Back in Black and the Bon Era tunes, with I think only Thunderstruck and For Those About to Rock representing the FTATR -> Stiff upper Lip albums.

Angus was a bit lose to start with, but after the strip half way through he came out firing on all cylinders (as is the way of the Angus). Mal, Phil and Cliff were tight as ever and Brian seemed to be really enjoying it all. Sound was very good, Mals guitar really cut through and Angus' solos nailed some body shaking highs.

Superb opening - tick
Massive Rosie doll - tick
Strip - tick
Huge Bell - tick
Angus on raised podium - tick
Cheesey graphics - tick
CANNONS - tick
... and Hard, Hard Rockin' - tick

So all in all, all present and correct as we have come to expect :-) I was particulary struck during Rosie that they have been playing that song live for 30+ years now, and boy have they nailed Rock music TO THE WALL!!

Haha, I didn't want to "spoiler" everything :)
That is my absolute favourite bit of their concerts, pure genius

How could anyone suggesting Boney M as a potential candidate for "one of the tightest rythymn sections in the business beats out gloriously defeaning RAWK" be serious ?

As for me, pretty much everything I play tends to end up sounding fairly "AC/DC" so you could say I was fairly heavily influenced by their sound.

To be honest, I would be much more into them if they didn't have this ridiculous satanic/horns/"black" thing going on.  They've only cultivated it to be "cool" with the kids but it puts me off bigtime (even if it pretty much mostly tongue in cheek).
