Title: last time, i promise... bridge miracle man vs ceramic pig.
Post by: dheim on April 17, 2009, 06:24:09 PM
if i didn't get it completely wrong the C-pig should have more mid and hi-mids, less highs and more or less the same amount of bass. am i right?

i know you already answered to this one in another thread 10 minutes ago, but actually i'm a dumbass...
so the c-pig is thicker, fuller, nastier and has more extreme frequencies...

antag (or eric hellstyle, i can't remember) once said that MMs sound dark on bass and screaming bright on highs... c-pig does the same but MORE?
and mids?

It was eric. And I, as is often the case, disagree.

The MM has a brightness in it all the time. It'll sing and squeel and crunch merrily if you let it. Its way smoother than the C-Pig though, which has a saturated face melting super-heated diamond-bladed hypersonic chainsaw thing going on the in the highs. The lows are deeper and bigger, the mids are quite balanced (the mm has more low mids, the pig more mids and high mids, but not a massive amount like the PK), its more compressed and much hotter. Like, 20% hotter-seeming.

Its quite probably the most brutal pickup known to man.

But, my quesiton is this - why dont you just put the ONE I JUST REMEMBERED YOU ALREADY HAVE in a guitar and find out for yourself!??!?

Dhiem, if we ever meet I'M opening YOU

mainly because i'm a dumbass, like i previously stated.
then because i'm a bit ashamed of being such a dumbass and don't want to bring my shining brand new custom to my luthier a week after it's finally ready for a pickup change...

anyway you were of great help, i just needed a reason to put that c-pig in the custom and your post gave me plenty...

Dheim, if we ever meet I'M opening YOU

i arrogated the freedom to fix your post...

it's funny to be free to share some of my star wars fetish with someone... my girlfriend never saw any of the 6 (well, 3 + 3...) movies and every time i tried to "cure" her she fell asleep after 10 minutes... how can anyone fall asleep when darth vader's on the screen is one of the mysteries of life...

Having seen and loved the first three, I saw the first of the new ones. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Appalled, more like. Jar Jar Binks or whatever that cretinous lump's name was was just part of the reason I hated that film, so I haven't seen the two newer ones since then.

don't give up too early...
the new trilogy suffers of the same illness that affected almost every action - big budget movie in the last 15 years... lots of cool, colourful and huge things moving very fast on the screen, and in-between scenes that break completely the rhythm... so everything must be as quick as possible. story and characters become sketched, and stupid things like jar jar binks become possible.
BUT - despite lucas' efforts to aim the new trilogy mainly to families (and SW nerds that liked it anyway - like me... :)), episode 2 is a great movie and the other two have anyway some really good scene...
consider it like a porn movie... all is about the main action, everything else is rubbish that's there just to fill... ;)

Phantom menace was an abomination.

The other two were OK, though. Or I liked them at least.

I thought the return of the sith was pretty good.

Its remarkable how one tiny scene can let marr the whole film though

Darth vader going "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Pathetic.

i remember a costume party when i was 8 or 9... i built myself a complete stormtrooper suit with hard paper and looked very cool...  8) i also had a plastic sterling virtually identical to empire's beam guns (that were mocked up sterling guns). sweet childhood memories...
