Jeff Becks Esquire. Just how sweaty must some one be to wear it down that much.

It looks very cool worn out like that. A guitar of substance, played by a man who really knows what his doing  :P

Not worn enough. Someone should bury it for 300 years, now THAT's a relic.

Funny how we all have differing views- I think it looks pretty cool. The bulbous bit particularly has worn well.

Jeff Becks Esquire. Just how sweaty must some one be to wear it down that much.

Rib cut and forearm relief have obviously been added. Fender doesn't have enough sense to offer that.
What is the tone wood? Looks pretty dark for mahogany? Maybe it's not really a Fender body? Sort of like Joe Walsh's mysterious super dark exotic wood neck Strats he's played on the NAMM Fender stage?

The one in the pictures is a Fender Custom shop guitar - look at the logo on the back of the headstock.  Jeff Beck did the sanding himself on his.  It should be swamp ash that has just been played a lot with no lacquer to stop the dirt and sweat getting into it.

You can get decals, or just put a Fender neck on anything, just sayin'...
Makes sense that he sanded it himself and didn't refinish the body. My only point was that perhaps it was not a stock Fender body, 'cause they sure don't ship 'em like that!  :D

Rib cut and forearm relief have obviously been added. Fender doesn't have enough sense to offer that.

The American Deluxe has a ribcage cut, no forearm contouring though.

Huh. Website makes no mention of it in the specs, no photo of the back either. Pretty much you got your choice of ash or alder.

Yes - they had one in Mansons in Exeter - around £10,000 if I remember, complete with 1960's guitar strap and case! They have also had  a Clapton Crossroads 335 for a similar price. I expect the next one will be the Jeff Beck Oxblood Les Paul which Gibson has recently issued. Not tempted to get my plastic out for those sort of prices although......hmmm...maybe the oxblood Les Paul would go nicely with my two Cornfords 8)

That's pretty cool!! I wonder why Fender doesn't advertise this feature?
