Come on then, what's the best?
I'm going for Powerage
Second Back in Black
I've not got them all so need to see if I'm missing any gems....
-
If You Want Blood (the Bon Scott era live album) is the best by far in my opinion :D
Purely studio albums, it has to be Back in Black.
-
I've not got all albums either but my favourite is "If you want blood... you've got it" live album. Love playing along to it. Such great raw aggressive tones and playing.
Back in Black is probably second for me but Black Ice is growing on me more and more.
Did anyone see them at Manchester on Tuesday? It was a fantastic show! Sure it was predictable with the same stage props (cannons, big inflatable Rosie etc) but that's what I went to see and it was very entertaining. Too bad we had the cr@ppiest seats in the house but the band played great. Good mixture of old classics and new material.
-
Back In Black for me, but it depends on what your personal preference is, most die hard AC/DC fans would probably think it was sacrilege to pick an album without the original singer Bon Scott.
-
If you want blood... gets my vote :D
I'd be hard pressed to nominate a studio album as "better than all the others" though.
Back in Black is up there, Highway To Hell would easily have beaten it (for me, that is) if production-wise it wasn't the "almost-there" transition between the old sound and the more commercial sound they peaked with on BiB... Probably my favourite studio album is Powerage though... (that's the one I listen to most, anyway )

Powerage tied with Dirty Deeds for me
-
Powerage
Back In Black
If You Want Blood
Highway To Hell
Then generally any Bon album in preference to the Brian albums (sorry Brian...). I like the very early albums because they're a bit more varied in style (but also a bit more patchy).
-
I can't decide.
I'm going to have to make it a tie between Powerage and Back In Black.
Black Ice is in my AC/DC top 5. Great album.

Sorry to be slightly off thread, but has anybody heard of this all-women coverband:

?
Pretty awesome ... for girls that is :O)

High Voltage
Highway to hell
Ballbreaker
for me !

Highway to Hell for me. I know i'm probably in a vast minority here, but i don't really like Back in Black very much

me neither ! (except Hell bells, which is one of my favorite though)
-
I dont like Black in Black much either because I get sick of the vocals. So annoying.

As the obvious ones have been said, in the spirit of the OP looking for hidden gems:
Check out Flick of the Switch. Much underrated and with some great sounds. Much rawer than BiB. Self produced, wasn't it?
Also Stiff Upper Lip, was, IMO, a return to form, with a great blues-club feel to it. Quite laid back, and with better (if simpler) set of songs.
Don't forget Who Made Who for some instrumentals. Also 74 Jailbreak and...oh, anything really.
BTW, if the guy asked for your favourite albums, how negative is it to chime in with the album you don't like? What's the point dude?
-
For me it has always been High Voltage.....
-
I like Highway to Hell , Back In Black and High Voltage best I think

Me. I was lucky and had standing tickets. Great show.
Oh and Highway to Hell for me
-
On 2nd thoughts, maybe Highway to Hell.

My work colleagues gave me some HMV vouchers yesterday (it's my 34th tomorrow!). I went straight up to HMV and had a bit of a CD shopping frenzy. I bought 5 cd's amongst which was If You Want Blood. Listened to it in the car on the way home and first impressions are that it is pretty good.
When it first came on I thought what the f*%& is this. I then realised that my daughter had just put her Mr Men DVD on in the back of the car and the theme tune coincided with the crowd cheers at the start of the CD :o And there was me thinking that AC/DC were a bunch of pansies!

Nothing wrong with the Mr Men. Especially Mr Noisy... "I WOULD LIKE A PIECE OF MEAT!"... almost ties in with the "If You Want Blood" theme.

Just to be different, and because it was my first album, my favorite has always been Blow Up Your Video.
I even had That's the Way I Wanna Rock 'n' Roll as my morning alarm music for years.
-
'If You Want Blood' without a doubt - the tones and playing are fantastic on that album. I remember wanting that one for ages before I even heard it when I saw the cover.
Then I'd say Highway To Hell, then Powerage, then Back In Back, then whatever from the early period - probably High Voltage.

Ha Ha
That was my first AC/DC album too, gotta love a bit of Heatseeker; wish they had played that at the 02.
I had standing not too far from the front but the whole thing was kind of ruined by a bunch of tw@ts moshing all around us, i got elbowed in the eye, and my girlfriend got knocked over a couple times. Why is it those type of people are always 6'2 weight about 15 stones and havent washed for the best part of the decade :?
Best album def if you want blood, best studio album hmm i'd probably go for let there be rock.
-
Its too hard, I can't choose ...
But if I was only allowed to keep one AC/DC album I guess it would be Back in Black.
I have always had a soft spot for Fly on the Wall though, a couple of duff tracks on it but otherwise top rockin'
