I was just wondering if anyone can help me with something on ebay. I want to sell my pod x3 live on ebay with a reserve of maybe £220, but im new to selling so i was just wondering how much will ebay and paypal take if it went at that price? ive had a look on ebay at the fees but i cant really make sense of it. If anyone with experience with ebay could tell me what to expect to pay id be most grateful.

You'd probably only get £200 after fee's. Raise the price a bit to cover the costs. £240 for an X3 Live is still very good.

You'll pay an insertion fee based on the price you start the auction off at. On top of that will be any extras you chose, like extra pictures, Buy it Now and other enhancements like that.
If the item sells you'll pay a % of the price the item went for. They call this the Final Value Fee. Again this varies on what kind of item it is.
On top of this if you use Paypal they will also take a cut. Ooh and Paypal is owned by eBay. Funny old world...

The only thing I'd add is DON'T have a reserve price!!
Nobody benefits from them except eBay. In addition to the listing fees, they'll charge you a reserve fee - 2% of the reserve price - which you pay whether or not the item sells.
I also think reserves can put off buyers because they're bidding blind. If you have a reserve of £220 and a start price of 99p you'll get loads of bids - but most of them will be chancers looking for a bargain. Serious bidders may be put off if they see 20 bids and an unknown reserve that still hasn't been met. Result: the price may never reach £220, so no sale.
On the other hand, if you have a start price of £220 (but no reserve) you may only get one bidder, but at least the item sells. And eBay get a few quid less out of the deal.
