Title: Another satisfied customer (Riff Raffs - first impressions)
Post by: Spiteface on April 24, 2009, 09:22:11 PM
I'm starting a new thread for this.

This past saturday, I finally took my Epiphone Dot into my usual shop to have my recently purchased Riff Raff humbuckers installed.  Yesterday, while I was in work, they called to let me know it was ready.  Upon receiving said message from my stepfather, I decided that after work I would rush down there to pick it up.

I haven't had much time with them yet, but these pickups were £190 well-spent.  This was actually most noticeable when I set my Tiny Terror to a clean tone.  The key issue I had with the stock pickups just was not there anymore, and I was left with a great clean sound, which has translated VERY well into overdriven sounds.  When the amp is overdriven, the sound also cleans up nicely when you back off on the volume, again a huge improvement over the stock Epiphone pickups.

I'll be able to get more of a feel for these pickups over time, but my first impression of these, as you can tell, is a VERY positive one.

I'd like to thank Tim himself for making them, and everyone who helped me make my mind up on what to go for.

I am actually contemplating another guitar purchase soon. If I get the idea to fit new pickups to that, BKP's will certainly be top of my list of things to look at!

Again, thanks guys!

Awesome! I ordered my first set of BKP's, Riff Raffs, yesterday. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Nice one :D

Riff Raffs were my first set (bought same time as my Irish Tours, but I installed them first) - I keep forgetting the guitar they're in, but whenever I pick it up (about to soon) I love what they do...
