Evening everyone. It's my birthday today and I have been given some money - this will be spent on a pedal. Basically will either be a fuzz or a chorus to move me more towards a Frusciante type sound. I have about £100 to spend. Any suggestions?
I've thought about the catalin bread V8 fuzz but am not sure their pedals are normally like. Similarly I've thought about the digitech hardwire chorus but again don't know what they are like.
Good news is that I am off to the natural history museum tomorrow and V&R is not too far from it! My partner thinks I've set up the visit to the nhm just so I can visit V&R!

V&R isn't that close to the natural history museum... is it?
what type of chorus do you want? analogue? digital?

According to multimap it's 2.93 miles - unless I've made a schoolboy error :o
Looking for analog if within budget.

Happy Birthday!
This is a brilliant chorus - I have one on my board. VERY similar (if not identical) to the much loved Boss CE-1 but with true bypass :D

That's outrageous! I always knew he had a big, ahem, rig. That little set up would cost a few pounds!

Cheers Dave - I knew the tonerider was going to come out! I'm not a fan of buying without trying usually - I'll see how risk averse I am feeling tomorrow!

No suggestions, Ian, but happy birthday! Though I'm a couple of hours late.

Happy birthday :)! I would love this for my birthday: "Moog MF-105 MuRF, MF-105B Bass MuRF, MF-101 Low-Pass Filter, MF-103 Phaser; "That would be fun 8)! And...a real Rhodes Fender Piano is on my wishing list like for ever :? About your wishes,i would look at the AnalogMan FuzzFace.I was about to trade my S&D TweakFuzz but it didn't happend..

Happy Birthday Ian!

Happy birthday, dude.
I like getting BYOC pedals for my birthday, as you seem to get more bang for your buck, as it were - no only do you get the pleasure of receiving it, you also get to extend the just over several week while you f*ck up building it!!!

There is no issue over buying mail order or online you have a right to have your money back if you don't like it under consumer protection legislation. You may have to pay delivery to send it back but that is rarely more than the cost of going to the shop twice.

There's a link somewhere to a couple of YouTube clips of me playing the Chorus. Give me a shout if you can't find it and I'll send it to you...

oh, ok, close to me is about 15 feet...
+1 on the tonerider, it's very nice. i also picked up a daphon analogue delay recently (like, last few days), and if its (as far as i'm aware, analogue) chorus pedal is as nice as the delay, it's bound to be worth a look, too- you can pick them up, new, on ebay for around £20-£25. I've ordered the flanger too, which should come in a day or two, if you're willing to wait, I'll let you know how it is, too. They're not true bypass, but the buffered bypass (on the delay, anyway) is pretty good. Sounds as good (if not better) to me than the true bypass on the tonerider, with the leads I'm using, anyway (cleartones)- but the true bypass "feels" a bit more transparent, if that makes sense. I suspect the tonerider might be higher quality, but the daphon is really ridiculously good for the price (this is the delay i'm talking about, not the chorus), especially if you're willing to stick to the settings where it sounds at its best (some settings get a bit noisy).
i think carl martin makes an analog chorus under budget too, but i haven't tried it.
oh yeah, happy birthday :)
