Second build so it's a bit scr@ppy, the tin just had to be done though. The eagle eyed amongst you will spot a beefy residue on the inside. Never has an amp smelled this good.

It's surprisingly good. It needs a VERY good battery, but is best on the end of a PSU. You just wouldn't expect a 1/2 watt amp to do much but it's surprisingly decent and pretty damn funky. I only really did it for shites and giggles and I have an issue with the grain and gain so will have to look into that, but otherwise, it does what it says on the tin... sort of ;)

That's class :D

Looks great
Did you modify it or leave it stock? :P

^ ^
does it work as a pre-amp pedal? overdrive? i had it in my head that the Noisy Cricket was a mini-amp, does it connect straight to a speaker?
it looks great, whatever it does!

It's a half watt guitar amp (which is louder than you'd expect!). Must have cost all of about £15 in parts (probably not even that), though I reckon I could do the next one cheaper as I'd be tempted to bypass the grain and gain, leaving it a 2 knob, 1 switch job. I don't see why you couldn't use it as a pre or a boost pedal, I'll have to give it a go. As it was it was built on the radioshack general purpose pcb shown here (http://www.beavisaudio.com/Projects/NoisyCricket/).
I have no facility to record sadly, also I wouldn't torture you with my playing. But there are a few Noisy Cricket clips/vids out there that give you a good idea of what it sounds like. Sounds great through my 1x12.

ah, sounds interesting. i have a z-vex nano head, which is a lot more expensive! but is either 1/2 a watt or 1 watt, i can't remember which. it is remarkably loud! and it sounds great. i'd love to have a go at one of these noisy crickets, looks like a lot of fun
