Gah, that sounds like a real arse pain right there. You have my deepest sympathies. I haven't even ordered my pig-90 yet (partially 'cause I can't decide on a cover), and I already want it here and check my mailbox impatiently.

I'm actually feeling a hopeless impulse to get a holydiver, and I'm trying to learn more about it than what I've read. It's going into a strat, and I'm trying to determine what would contrast nicely to the black MQ already in there.

hmmm, I say aged or polished nickel in that guitar, will give it a nice look (nickel, black and cream), and give each pickups it's own visual personality

I don't think I want aged nickel, I'd rather age it myself, but I'm definitely thinking either nickel or raw nickel. I've heard that if you don't like how raw nickel looks, you can just polish it, but I'm more partial to just leaving it alone. Plus, I'd get to watch it age. I wonder how cap head allen bolts would look on it though.

Go for raw nickel and get one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=229267

Then you can put some custom engraving on the front and make it truly unique

The raw nickel's happening for sure, I ordered it earlier, but I don't think that I should make any warranty-invalidating mods. I'll enjoy watching the nickel age enough  :D

Ah, instead of doing what I had planned, I got impulsive at the last minute and bought a Holydiver. I've heard good things about it, but the pig-90 is still on my to-do list.

Nope, everything's paid before they ship.
