I think that started on the LP forum.  Don't they use a bunch of gain and effects so you can't really hear the pickups?

Just listened to a couple of the Soundclick tracks.

As much fun as it may have been, doing quick  swaps like that you don't get the opportunity to play with the height. And it seems like they only tried one application of them
