Title: Fling Fing 1 VH2 `s
Post by: jt on April 24, 2005, 07:29:32 PM
8) Hi Guys i did this on the fly thought you might like it.  sorry for the mix not being perfect but i had to do it all on headphones so the clean guitar is not as loud as it shoud be. Ok details as follows;
Clean sound Both P/U`s on full H/B mode Podxt Jazz Clean
Solo over clean Neck P/U Podxt jumped plexi lead when drums enter solo switches between Neck and Bridge;
Dirty Rythem Bridge P/U Podxt jumped plexi lead
Ok thats all for now i`ll do a full on uptempo rocker at some point in the near future meanwhile i hope this does the job

:guitar4: HA HA HA !  The problem seems to be that having to use headphones [nieghbours] means that i lost a lot of the sustain out of the unit that i would have got if i`d had it going through an amp/monitors it`s a mistake i won`t make again in the near future i will do another one this time i`m miking a cab and F**K the nieghbours !!!  :lol:  :lol:
but thanks for the feedback

8) Hey man Thanks for the feedback yes it is my own stuff i did it quickly for "willo" so he had a rough idea of what the P/U`s sounded like. As i`ve also said i will do a more complete version recorded with a Amp/Cab system so that you can hear how well these P/U`s sustain notes. But thanks for the kind words.

That was cool; nice tone & the playing reminded me of a break you might hear on an old Rush album ... that's a good thing! Some deep bends on there!!

According to the itunes counter I've listened to it 7 times, I like this one. When the drums and other guitar kick in it reminds me of Pink Floyd, cool. :twisted:

That sounds astounding.  Great playing.  Do you have any clean clips of the vh2 you could post?

:guitar4: Hi Sean i can record and put down some examples of the VH2`s in clean mode but they will be recorded thru the Podxt ? if your happy to wait a while i`m waiting on a delivery of an Amp, which i can mike and give you a demo of how the P/U`s sound thru a cab. i`m hopeing the wait won`t be to long but Sheldon have promised me that it won`t be more than 4 weeks tops before my amp arrives. What would you like.[which ever way you want it i`ll keep the demo rythm chords only as not to obscure the clean sound in any way Does this help ?] 8)

I kinda anxious to hear what they sound like clean.  I don't mind if you use the Podxt, just keep it set as you said "not to obscure the clean sounds".  Hope it dosent cause you too much trouble,  I owe you one.

Great playing, great sound. The clean riff reminds me a bit of The Burning Red by Machinehead.

cheers man! what im thinking is recording a simple chord sequence on my electro harmonix 16 second delay, which also does loops, and then just jamming over the top of that. i think if i can run a line out from my amp into the computer then it should record fine. its not the same as a mic'd cab but its better than nothing i guess!

I did use a computer......I thought I wrote that too somewhere....oh well!

I used Logic Pro on my ancient Apple G4, a M-Audio soundcard, Neve preamp and a Shure SM57. But all you really need is a microphone, a microphone preamp 0r cheap mixer, and a soundcard. Software can be whatever you like.

Just be prepared o get the recording bug!

:drink:  :D  Thanks for the nice comments. i highly recommend these P/U`s i`ve just orderd my custom made guitar from Feline and i`ll put in another set of these. The neck P/U is outstanding and the Bridge is no slouch either !! 8)
When i take delivery of my Sheldon amp in about 2 Weeks time i`ll knock out a Rythem Based Rocker so every body can hear how these things sound full on O.K 8)
