Title: High Gain Warpig Recording - PodXTL
Post by: blackout on October 21, 2005, 07:39:26 PM
Just quickly knocked this one out because I've had this new pickup for a few days now and I haven't recorded much, so I thought I give you all a quick demo of the kind of tone I'm getting from it.

This is Laid to Rest by lamb of god, just did this one because I was in the right tuning, and I knew it could play it. I originally just imported the original song into audacity to play along to so I could keep it time but I turned it down a bit after recording and just left it in there, the guitar tracks I recorded are higher in the mix, so you can't really here the ones on the song. I used a patch using the big bottom amp model, a new favourite of mine.

I'm really liking my warpig, it's a very bassy pickup, but it really clear at the same time. The output is great and its an excellent rhythm pickup. It's made a big improvement to my lead tone too, but I haven't thought of what to record to show that yet.

Anyway, let me know what you think

Sounds great. Brutal indeed.

Now where's that headbanging smiley with the exploding amps?

The Warpig just begs for low tunings doesn't it? I keep tuning mine back to Drop C.

Cool clip man. The rise in POD XT clips is making me smile.

I would like to hear the clip with out the backing, or another track with out the original song behind it, but none the less cool clip.

Im thinking of getting a 7 string warpig.. im using the dimarzio X2B in the bridge at the moment tuned down to drop A, with 10-70 gauge strings... just want a bit more grunt for wicked harmonics and huge distortion.  You reckon theyd hold up ok?  Theyre goin into an ibanez RG7420 im pretty sure.

you would do well with a Painkiller or MM also, but Warpig is gonna give you boatloads of grunt my friend.

excellent lol.  all the reviews talking about how 'organic' it sounds really intrigue me, i look forward to trying one.. the EMG's i had in my old schecter just sounded so stale...
Make some horrific industrial noise  :band5:

There's particular clips I come across (tons and tons of BKP users who do this) that just sound so much ballsier than the original recordings.... makes me wish Lamb of God had used the damn warpigs for themselves, cuz this shites $%&#in nastyyyyy.

$%&#in great to find people who can use these pickups to this potential.
