Title: Has anyone tried the Vox Night Train yet?

Looks like a cool little amp; might be the perfect amp for lap steel for me!

Haven't tried it myself, but one of my dad's buddies has one and the old man speaks nicely of it.

Maybe not the most helpful post...

I've had a little go; I thought it was awesome for the price. Definitely not the last word in low-powered valve amps, but it's nice with both a strat and LP and i thought it had quite a unique tone.

I asked the Vox demonstrator to play the Night Train at the show. I was shocked at how versatile it was. He got some lovely jazz and clean sounds through to crunchy rock tones. The "all tone" switch was good. It made the little amp sound big and full. It also has quite a lot of headroom.

Its quite simple though so good for home and less complicated gigs.

Just wait for the Orange Dual Terror. We have seen a few amp battles with the Night train and the Terror, and I think the Terror is quite poorly Eqed for example On Youtube they put everything to noon and they are like well thats how it sounds. I think the terror rocks. I played it against a egnater rebel and the rebel stood not a chance.
